琥珀，是數千年前的遠古松科松屬植物之樹脂埋藏於地層，經過漫長歲月的演變而形成的化石。透明似水晶，光亮如珍珠，色澤像瑪瑙。品種有金珀、蟲珀、香珀、靈珀、石珀、花珀、翳珀、水珀、明珀、藍珀、蠟珀等，尤以含有完整昆蟲或植物的琥珀為珍貴。呈不透明狀或半不透明狀的琥珀也被稱作蜜臘琥珀或蜜蠟，是大部份的經書中提到的佛家七寶之一，具有特別的能量及護體催吉作用。參見「維基百科」--琥珀
